Synopsis and Plot Summary
Huang Yimei, the "rose" in the story lived a sheltered life with her brother. Throughout her life, she encounters a number of suitors.
Huang Yimei (Liu Yifei) comes from a literary family. She grew up pampered and also showed artistic talent from a young age. She was quickly acknowledged despite being new to the workplace and this is where she meets her first love Zhuang Guodong (Peng Guanying), but their romance ends in heartbreak. The trials in the workplace allow her to have a clearer plan for her life, so she decides to return to school for further studies. After graduation, she marries her school senior Fang Xiewen (Lin Gengxin), but the marriage ends in divorce. Huang Yimei ventures out on her own in the art world. During this period, she meets her soul mate Fu Jiaming (Wallace Huo) who only has a few months to live. Even though their romance is doomed, Huang Yimei is not discouraged as she continues to aspire to live a colorful life.

- The novel was adapted into the 1986 Hong Kong film Lost Romance starring Maggie Cheung and Chow Yun Fat.
- It is Wallace Huo's comeback to dramas after a few years break.
- The cast was officially announced in September 2022 when they were already in the middle of a few months of filming.
