Synopsis and Plot Summary

Set before the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics is an inspirational story about a family living in a hutong trying to realize their dream. Cheng Yifan who's a coach discovers that his grandson has a talent for short track speed skating and intends to train him to become a world champion.

The 10-year-old Cheng Guozi (Xiao Tianren) has returned from abroad and now lives with his grandfather Cheng Yifan (Liu Peiqi) who hopes he can become a short track speed skating champion. Conflicts often arise especially due to their differences in age, ideals, personality, hobbies, etc. The more eager Grandpa is to win, the more uncooperative Guozi becomes. When Grandpa tries to put his foot down, Guozi rebels.

The misunderstandings between grandfather and grandson causes a chain reaction of events within the entire family, leading to an endless back and forth between putting up a united front against Grandpa or teaching Guozi a lesson.

Through his training, Cheng Guozi gradually falls in love with the sport and also comes to understand his grandfather's glorious history and long-cherished wish. Cheng Yifan's "championship" dream eventually becomes Cheng Guozi's dream. Accompanied by a family who love each other in spite of their "chaotic" moments, Cheng Guozi trains hard to become an excellent short track speed skater.
