Synopsis and Plot Summary
A math genius accidentally discovers through the tax books that for more than a hundred years, one county has borne the tax burden of its surrounding seven counties. He then begins a difficult road to righting the wrongs in the government from the county to higher authorities.
Shuai Jiamo (Zhang Ruoyun), who was born into a military family, is very interested in mathematics. While he was honing his skills by reviewing the taxes of various counties, he uncovers a suspicious scheme. After his thorough investigation, Shuai Jiamo learns that someone has been manipulating the books to transfer taxes from various counties into one county. He raises the issue but encounters many difficulties in the appeal process and almost dies! It will take the efforts of Shua Jiamo and the many parties involved to eventually reveal the truth to the world.
