Synopsis and Plot Summary

Qin Chuan and Xie Qiao grew up in the same compound. They have been bickering with each other for ages. Qin Chuan is simple and does not mince words but he always stands by Xie Qiao and will always be her most important friend. No matter where life leads them, they will come together. Theirs is a story about a group of young people seeking their dreams and striving to grasp the opportunities of the times.

At the start of the 21st century, Xie Qiao (Guan Xiaotong) was looking forward to a wonderful start to the next chapter of her life. She has been admitted to Peking University, which is the same school where her crush is located. She becomes very good friends with her dorm mates Qian Xi and Wang Ying (Jiang Peiyao) but is suddenly at a loss when Qian Xi gets together with her crush. Xie Qiao's childhood friend Qin Chuan (Zhang Yishan) returns from overseas to be there for her and stays in China to start his business.

Qin Chuan intended to confess his feelings for Xie Qiao. However, Xie Qiao begins dating Wang Ying's childhood friend Yang Cheng (Fan Chengcheng). Qin Chuan has no choice but to become Wang Ying's "contract" boyfriend. For years, Qin Chuan and Xie Qiao have missed out on each other. They have both been in different relationships. Having lived through the Wenchuan earthquake, they realize that long-lasting companionship is the most precious love. In embracing the times, everyone has their ups and downs, their wins and losses. Although everyone has embarked on a different path of life, they are driven by their ideals to continue to move forward in the same direction.
