Synopsis and Plot Summary

It tells the story of Liu Changchun, the first Chinese athlete to go to the United States to participate in the Olympics. He experienced many hardships just to be able to stand at the 100-meter starting line at the Olympic Stadium in Los Angeles.

In 1932, Liu Changchun (Li Zhaolin) was a famous sprinter from Dongbei who refused to represent Japan's puppet state Manchukuo in the Los Angeles Olympics. In tears, he bid farewell to his wife and child to escape from Dalian, which was under Japanese occupation. Evading the Kwantung Army's pursuit, Li Changchun fled to Beijing, sought the help of Zhang Xueliang (Hu Jun) and finally made his way to the Olympic Games as a representative of China.
