Synopsis and Plot Summary

While on a mission, fire station deputy head Huo Yan met the cheerful yet stubborn ER medical intern Yan Lan. They become acquainted due to a misunderstanding, stumbling along and supporting each other as they grow together. Coming from two different professions, they uphold their beliefs in their respective "battlegrounds" to become lovers and comrades in arms.

Huo Yan (Simon Gong) graduated from the firefighter training academy and became the deputy captain of a squad. It was during a rescue operation to save a pregnant woman that Huo Yan first meets ER doctor Yan Lan (Zhang Huiwen). For the reticent Huo Yan, "little sun" Yan Lan is the only uncertainty in his life.

They meet again as part of the reinforcements responding to an earthquake. Having witnessed extreme conditions together ignites a sense of affinity and their feelings start to grow. Back in the city, there is an outbreak of a highly infectious virus. Yan Lan and her colleagues give their all in the battle against the epidemic.

Huo Yan, along with everyone else who has received help from the both of them, silently support Yan Lan in their own ways as they worry for her safety. On the other hand, Jiang Tong (Wang Ziwei) who is an assistant instructor at the fire department falls for the seemingly cowardly fireman Wang Dayin (Zhou Yanchen). Stuck between her family's opposition and Wang Dayin's attempts to distance himself, Jiang Tong is determined to learn about the story behind Wang Dayin.
