Synopsis and Plot Summary

The journey of evolution of the founding empress follows a Jiang Baoning, the princess of Jianan who relies on her own strength to balance the power between various factions in the court. She also finds happiness with imperial guard Li Qian in spite of the difference in their social status.

Fun Facts

Filming wrapped after 113 days on November 12, 2020.
Filming took place in Hengdian World Studios.
When the premiere was announced, the Chinese title was also changed from "Mu Nan Zhi" to "Jia Nan Zhuan" which translates to "The Legend of Jia Nan."
The premiere date was moved up one day earlier from October 18 to October 17.
The heroine's rebirth which is a main plot point in the novel has been removed in the drama adaptation.
