Synopsis and Plot Summary

Set during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty, the story follows a romance between a Mongolian weaver girl and Pei Xingjian, a talented man who passed the civil exams at a young age yet never managed to find success for many years.

Mongol girl Kudi Liuli (Guli Nazha) has a god-gfted talent in dressmaking. Life has been unkind to her as she has been repeatedly on the verge of life and death. Fortunately, she relies on her wit and determination to overcome every hurdle. At this time, she meets Pei Xingjian (Timmy Xu). Just like her, his talents has been squandered for many years.

Together, they witness the secrets of the royal palace, the ugly battle between nobles and the shifting of power as Wu Zhou seized control. From a guileless youth to a man of power, from a life among a tribe of Mongol merchants to a life of extravagance in the inner courts, Pei Xingjian and Kudi Liuli experience changes like the raging wind that constantly test their beliefs. In an environment full of traps and trials, theirs is a legendary tale of brilliance and love.
