Synopsis and Plot Summary
A beautiful and heart-wrenching story that follows three lifetimes of romance between the fox regent of Qing Qiu and the Heavenly Prince of Jiu Chong.
Mo Yuan sacrificed his life to seal Ghost King Qing Cang (Kevin Yan Qiquan) in the Wu Wang Sea. His body remains in Qing Qiu under the care of Bai Qian (Crystal Liu) who is his most favored disciple. Bai Qian is a queen regent of the Fox Tribe and she has been betrothed to Crown Prince Yehua (Yang Yang) of the Heavenly Tribe. They never met each other until a chance encounter at a wedding in the Eastern Sea.
Yehua discovers that Bai Qian looks exactly like his late wife Su Su and that she even has the same problem with her eyes. She also finds him to be very similar to Mo Yuan. He moves in with her and begins pursuing her relentlessly. Filled with jealousy, Yehua's concubine Su Jin (Li Chun) colludes with Xuan Nu (Gu Xuan) to steal Mo Yuan's remains but the plan backfires as Yehua arrives in time to save Bai Qian. Together, they return to the Jiu Chong Heavens yet their happiness can only be short-lived once Bai Qian realizes why she looks so much like Yehua's late wife.

- It is produced by Alibaba Pictures and Ruyi Films.
- It is directed by Zhao Xiaoding who was nominated for an Oscar for Best Cinematographer due to his work in House of Flying Daggers and Anthony LaMolinara who won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects because of Spiderman 2.
- Filming lasted around three months, beginning December 18, 2015 and ending March 21, 2016.
- Filming took place in Beijing, Wulong District of Chongqing and Linzhi City of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
- Crystal Liu was a fan favorite to play the role of Bai Qian and Yang Yang's casting opposite her earned a big thumbs up due to the pair's stunning visuals which fit the premise about gods and goddesses.
