Synopsis and Plot Summary
Xu Nian became mute after witnessing the death of her mother. Her father married his lover and took in a new stepdaughter. Life is difficult, but Xu Nian is no pushover since she's actually a black lotus herself.
Xu Nian (Zheng Nanxi) has always believed that there is a hidden reason behind her mother's death. In order to find out the truth, she can only pretend to be a weak, innocent and mute girl. The stone-faced company executive Gu Mingyan (Li Pei'en) is fierce and ruthless in his tactics. Due to his childhood experiences, he suffers from persecutory paranoia and he is very wary of others.
Gu Mingyan has always suspected that the death of his father was due to a conspiracy by the Xu family and Gu Hongyu. Upon learning Xu Nian's true identity, he wanted to use her for his plan and tricks her into signing a marriage contract. What he didn't know is that his prey is actually a hunter just like himself.
