Synopsis and Plot Summary
It tells the story of the sweet assassin and the black-bellied city lord. Su Xianling is a novice who hopes to become a top assassin. She snatches a mission from her fellow assassin to kill Dongfang Jing, the current lord of the city. What she doesn't know is that the order was issued by the lord himself.
City lord Dongfang Jing (Li Ruotian) has to find a way to thrive in an environment where murderous intentions are like hidden daggers pointed at him. Even his own mother cannot be trusted. He has no choice but to pretend to be incompetent to protect himself when in reality, he is brave and resourceful. Dongfang Jing falls in love with assassin Su Xianling (Zhu Lilan) at first sight. When it comes to the assassin and the city lord, one is out in the open while the other is in the dark. They are enemies and also partners. In this cat and mouse game, two hearts slowly approach each other.
