Synopsis and Plot Summary

The drama is an adaptation of the popular '09 internet novel Li Chuan's Past. It tells the story of the emotional turmoil and choices faced by the main characters, played by Godfrey Gao and Jiao Jun Yan.

Wang Li Chuan is a perfectionist with a leg disability and a lonely soul. He comes from a good family and has a sensitive but strong hearth beneath his cold appearance. He turned a blind guy to any girl's love, except for the rebellious Xiao Qiu. Li Chuan stopped all contact with Xiao Qiu when he knew of his terminal illness as he knew that their love would not last. A few years later, the two chanced upon each other. What decisions would Li Chuan and Xiao Qiu make?

Filming took place in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Qiandao Lake, Kunming and Zurich, Switzerland.
Taurus Media owns the rights to the novel.
Book fans were initially against the casting of Godfrey Gao and Jiao Junyan, but they won the viewers hearts with their touching portrayal.
Tina Zhou wanted to cast Godfrey Gao as the second lead, which was the role of the domineering company president. After meeting him in person and being captivated by his eyes, she and the Director had many discussions before deciding that he should play the leading man.
The production team was also very particular in selecting the leading lady. Looking for a natural and fresh look, they decided against A-list actresses and made a bold decision to go with Jiao Junyan.
When dubbing for his character, Godfrey Gao who is a Canadian model used to be quite confident with his foreign language skills, but he felt defeated when trying to speak French.
Standing at 195cm and 165cm, netizens joked that Godfrey Gao and Jiao Junyan had the biggest and most adorable height difference. The actress often had to stand on a stool while filming or Godfrey Gao had to make himself shorter.
Veteran actor Du Yuan often shared snacks with the cast. He often discussed the script with his younger cast mates and gave practical advice.
