Synopsis and Plot Summary
In the eleventh year of Chengkang, General Jiang Xu returns to the capital after eight years guarding the border, to investigate embezzlement within the army. The case runs deeper than expected, threatening the entire court.
To protect the Ming family from being used, Jiang Xu marries Ming Tan, a fellow military family descendant. As the conspiracy unravels, Jiang discovers the corruption endangers the empire's economy. His investigation leads to the Ming family being falsely accused and destroyed. Determined to clear their name, Jiang and Ming Tan develop genuine feelings and work together to expose the truth.
