Synopsis and Plot Summary
In the crumbling Daning Dynasty, court official Pei Shenzhi alters the late emperor’s decree to place the seemingly meek Ning Jinyi on the throne as a puppet ruler.
Ning Jinyi (Huang Haoyue) hides her ambition well—she quietly builds power and pushes forward bold reforms. Pei Shenzhi (Li Geyang), intrigued by her intellect, begins to secretly support her.
