Synopsis and Plot Summary
During the prosperous Tang Dynasty, two beautiful girls in Yangzhou got married on the same day but they got on the wrong sedan chairs to meet each other's groom!
Du Bingyan (Bai Binghe), a maid at the medicine hall, is set to marry Qi Tianlei (Ao Ruipeng), the third son of the Qi family. Everyone knows that he is a prodigal son who is also seriously ill and could die at any time. Du Bingyan is willing to marry him for her own purposes. Meanwhile, Li Yuhu (Tian Xiwei) is the daughter of a martial artist. A bandit has kidnapped her father in exchange for her hand in marriage.
On the day of the wedding, their two entourages left the city at the same time. Along the way, both stopped at a temple to rest. The temple suddenly catches fire and in the panic, the brides get on the wrong sedan chairs. Li Yuhu enters the Qi Mansion to fight wits and courage with Qi Tianlei who has been feigning his sickness. Du Bingyan and Yuan Buqu (Zhao Shunran) actually turn out to be a good match. The twists and turns leading to their meetings may be bizarre, but the criss-crossing love stories have fulfilled two affectionate couples.

- Aside from the New Wrong Carriage Right Groom remake, previous versions include the original hit drama starring Huang Yi in 2000 and Zhao Liying's version in 2014.
