Synopsis and Plot Summary
In the early days of liberation, there is an urgent need for steel. The Communists united and led the broad working class to overcome many obstacles in a story about making outstanding contributions to the development of the China's steel industry.
In 1948 Dongbei, the remnants of the Kuomintang planned to blow up the Anshan Iron and Steel plant as they were evacuating. War hero Zhao Tiechi (Liu Ye) led the Communist troops to destroy the enemy's conspiracy. Together with engineer Sun Xuefei (Han Xue), veteran worker Meng Tai (Lin Yongjian), and general manager Cheng Shixun (Zhang Guoqiang), they throw themselves into the resumption of work and production. However, the blast furnace has become a lump of iron, the factory is in ruins and the first furnace of molten iron seems like an impossible task.
