Synopsis and Plot Summary

A high school student accidentally becomes the key person in an elaborate setup, leaving him no choice but to join Wu Xie in a dangerous mission.

Faced with an abusive father at home, Li Cu (Wu Lei) is a high school student who doesn't harbor much home for his future. However, an unusual encounter with a man who has returned from the desert changes his life.

Wu Xie's (Qin Hao) tomb raiding experiences through the years have hardened him and honed his wisdom. He approaches Li Cu, a young man who has become crucial to his plan and coerces him to accompany them on a mission. Under the guise of a photographer, Wu Xie heads back to the the desert with Li Cu in tow to begin a battle that was fated since thousands of years ago.

Filming lasted 113 days beginning on September 15, 2017 and ending on January 9, 2018.

Wu Xie is the main character of The Lost Tomb series. In this version, he is older, wiser, more mature and ready for the coming fight.
