Synopsis and Plot Summary

An inspirational story that follows a female general manager and a corporate newbie as they navigate through corporate life during a global financial crisis.

Li Xiang (Zhang Han) is an idealist who dreams of becoming a corporate big shot that's earning the big bucks and married to a beautiful woman. He starts working right after graduating from college and finds a job at Live & Life advertising firm as the assistant of Zhang Wei (Choo Ja Hyun).

As the general manager, Zhang Wei is a woman who is successful in life but not so much when it comes to love. Works throws a curveball when she faces difficulties executing her new marketing plan and has to deal with an impending layoff. Li Xiang is quite blessed as he always seems to find his way out of trouble and even manages to save the day. He also meets newcomer Qi Qi (Vianna Wu) and they fall into a romance. As the story progresses, Li Xiang looks toward his lady boss who used to be like a demon in office clothes and how she has evolved and wonders about the choices he should make as he looks to the future.

Filming lasted around three months beginning May 28, 2013 and ending August 31, 2013.
To reflect a corporate environment, the production team chose to film in the central business district of Shanghai and Hong Kong.
It is part of the dramas that were affected by the Hallyu Ban, an unofficial ban that was in effect in China to restrict all forms of Hallyu aka Korean Wave due to the political disagreement between China and Korea over THAAD. It is one of four dramas starring Zhang Han that were affected by the Hallyu Ban as it featured Korean actress Choo Ja Hyun as the leading lady. There was a running joke that Zhang Han had it worst as all of his dramas couldn't air.
