Synopsis and Plot Summary

Due to a conflict, a cloud fairy and a disciple of the astrological deity unintentionally disrupt the marriages of the three realms and are banished to the mortal realm to experience seven lifetimes of trials.

A story about the past and present lives of a cheerfully quarrelsome pair follows Xiang Yun (Yang Chaoyue) and Chu Kong (Ding Yuxi). Xiang Yun was originally a cloud in the sky who was turned into a fairy by Yue Lao, the god of marriage and love, and now works at the Yue Lao Pavilion.

One day, Chu Kong, a disciple of the astrological deity Maori Xingguan, not only accidentally barges into the pavilion but also ruins Xiangyun's fan. Their ensuing "fight" leads to irreparable damage as they mess up the red thread of fate that binds marriages in the three realms. As punishment, the Jade Emperor sends them down to the mortal world to experience seven lifetimes of love trials before they can return to heaven.
