Synopsis and Plot Summary

A criminal Investigation team in Bincheng City uses polygraph technology to crack a series of cases in a short period of time thus leading them to an unsolved mystery from twelve years ago.

Several homicides have rattled the city. The victims were all from the bottom run of the ladder and their bodies were found in remote places. The autopsy revealed that the murders may have been committed by the same person, yet the murderer is extremely cunning with no ties to any of the victims. Detective Ling Bin began to narrow down his investigations to a suspect who often drives a jeep. However, Ling Bin is killed in the line of duty when he tried to track down the suspect while on his way to meet his daughter Ling Ran.

Twelve years later. Ling Bin’s daughter, Ling Ran (Yu Nan), is now a detective working at the Technical Section of Bincheng Police Department. Ling Ran has gained some fame in the field after having successfully solved many difficult cases using polygraph technology. She partners up with Chen Hu (Xing Jiadong) who is the head of the major crimes division. Although the two have very different points of view, they have developed a tacit understanding from repeated cooperations.
