Synopsis and Plot Summary

It follows a university student and her complicated entanglements with the two men in her life.

You Jiaqi (Joe Chen) and Meng Heping (Feng Shaofeng) fell for each other after they met. But because Heping's mother was against their relationship, Jiaqi suggests that they breakup. Out of anger, Heping leaves the country. When Jiaqi visits her wealthy friend Ruan Zhengdong (Roy Chiu) at the hospital, she crosses paths again with Meng Heping and realizes that he and Zhengdong are childhood friends. In order to escape the pain of seeing Heping again, Jiaqi starts dating Zhengdong, thus starting a complicated relationship between the three people.

It is the second book to Fei Wo Si Cun's Cinderella's Dream.
Filming took place in Hangzhou, Fuyang, Liuxia and Linan.
The book Cinderella's Dream: Tears in Heaven (New Edition) tells a story about Du Xiaosus involvement with two excellent men. Joe Chen and Roy Chiu became a couple after the 2009 drama Easy Fortune Happy Life. However, they had broken up in early 2010. Joe Chen did not participate in promotions for The Girl in Blue though Joe Chen's agent stressed that it is not due to the breakup but a scheduling conflict.
There were only four months from the day filming completed until the series premiered which is quite fast for a drama.
Broadcast networks often edit out scenes to boost ratings. Hunan TV did not edit scenes for The Girl in Blue and broadcasted the entire series as it is.
Because of filming requirements, Feng Shaofeng and Joe Chen had to film a kissing scene when they weren't familiar with each other yet. To avoid the awkwardness, Feng Shaofeng walked up to Joe Chen to start a conversation.
