Synopsis and Plot Summary
A story that revolves around a husband and wife born in the 1980's who are now Shanghai drifters. They harbor hopeful dreams about the future no matter how difficult it is to attain.
Wu Gong (Huang Youming) and Jiang Li (Han Xue) are two research students who are studying in Shanghai. After graduation, they decide to stay in Shanghai despite their parents objections. Alas, the life they chose to lead is filled with obstacles. Wu Gong and Jiang Li finally make it to the altar, but a bigger problem awaits them.
Wu Gong had to use the downpayment for their new house in order to pay for his father's (Cao Li) medical expenses which causes Jiang Li's mother (Hasi Gaowa) to be extremely unhappy. Another issue arises when Wu Gong's ex-wife Xiao Qing (Ying Zi) suddenly shows up with a 5-year-old son that he didn't even know existed. Their marriage that is already on thin ice is put to the ultimate test.
