Synopsis and Plot Summary
In the early 1970s, Song Zitang exposed Tang Xianmin for his "inappropriate remarks" in order to gain a higher position. Tang Xianmin's family was persecuted and the Song and Tang families hold a grudge because of this.
Tang Xianmin (Niu Piao) lost his position as a senior engineer and was demoted to a job at the machine factory burning coal. Now, Song Zitang (Zhao Jun) is begging for Tang Xianmin's help in solving a problem with production, yet he refuses to do so until Song Zitang makes a public apology. While the relationship between the two families continue to deteriorate, Tang Xiaoyu (Zeng Li) and Song Changqing (Feng Lei) who are children of the two families have long been in love. In order to break them apart, Tang Xiaoxue (Li Xiaoran) and Song Jianguo (Zhu Yawen) join forces but it ends up causing even more harm.
